I n 1950 Alan Turing, a Cambridge University mathematician and logician, who orchestrated the solving of the Nazi's WWII Enigma Code, proposed the question, "Can machines think?". He proposed a test, known now as the Turing Test, whereby True A.I. could be determined. If a human interacted with a computer and the human couldn't tell it was a computer, then the test would be passed and would prove the existence of A.I. I n 1963 I.J. Good speculated that IF Artificial Intelligence were created it would lead to an Intelligence Explosion causing unforeseeable changes to Human civilization — beyond humanity's ability to control. Humanity would never recover. This event has been given the moniker, The Technological Singularity. I n 1997 CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) was created to prevent Spam Bots from interacting with websites. Originally, distorted words were displayed and the user was required to type in the actual word. Later versions used fragmented images from which the user was to select only those containing certain items. CAPTCHAs have continued to improve into ever more sophisticated testing systems. The simplest displays, begun in 2013, merely ask the user to click on a box that indicates "I'm not a robot".
